MS Exchange 2003 SBS "The action could not be completed. The bookmark is not valid"
Hi, p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman';} @page Section1 {size:595.3pt 841.9pt;margin:72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} I am getting some strange error message, while connect MS Outlook to Exchange 2003 SBS. The User has already account in Exchange and used to connect to his mailbox with any problem. I reinstall his computer due to some reason and reinstall ms outlook but when i try to connect the user to his mailbox it gives error message "The action could not be completed. The bookmark is not valid". The user permission is appropriate and other users are working fine in the domain. I assume it could be with any other user if i detach his connection from exchange. Any idea please.

Hi, Can you please check if that users webmail or OWA is working fine? Is the clients computer within the network or using RPC over HTTPS to access outlook? If its RPC-HTTPS then try to access that users mailbox from within the network? Also let me know the error message that you see while using www.testexchangeconnectivity.com Check the following: http://www.masterdef.net/article.exchange.bookmark.is.not.valid.htm

Hello Guro, Does user account has email address stamped? Do you get any error in event log related to RUS or Address List? Check below article if you are getting any error from below article. How to troubleshoot the Recipient Update Service by using the Application log in Exchange 2000 Server or in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822794 Do you have proper connectivity between user workstation and GC/DC? If possible try to reboot the GC and check the condition.

The issue that you are facing is due to address book corruption. Rebooting your global catalog domain controller usually fixes these. Please make sure that there are no 9176 error events in the application log. Ensure that there is a valid GC in the site and that the GC is offering NSPI Services. Check AD Sites and Services to make sure that no decommissioned DCs and/or GCs are still listed. Remove the GC role from the DC, reboot and reenable the GC role and reboot again. THEN, reboot the Exchange Server. Make sure that Exchange Server is set to automatically discover DCs/GCs and the COnfig DC. (Directory Access tab on the Exchange Server object).
